Home Slowly Settled Into Place

“Home Slowly Settled into Place” emerged as my response to the COVID-19 era’s uncertainty. Navigating distress and hopelessness, I learned to prioritize health and resilience through daily walks with my camera. What began as exercise became essential, grounding me as I observed a world paused—empty docks, covered boats, and the absence of communal life. Yet, familiar faces along my path fostered quiet community. These routines gradually transformed my sense of place, creating belonging where there was once unfamiliarity. Presenting these photographs in black and white unveils a poetic clarity, distilling both the solitude and renewed connection the project explores.
